I’m thinking of buying an airvalent (travelite) for portable air quality needs. I live in a country where it frequently rains however and I can’t find much on weather resistance for this device. Does anybody know or have experience with this device in that rain?
Unfortunately, the device is not water resistant at all and this is a common issue across carbon dioxide monitors (since they need inlets to measure the CO2 concentration).
There are some devices coming up (like the AirGradient Go) that incorporate CO2 sensors and are weather resistant due to having the inlets facing downwards, but I can’t think of any CO2 monitor that is currently resistant.
Perhaps a device with a case? I haven’t tested if the Aranet4 Home cases are rain resistant, but that could be worth looking into! There are also a range of cases on Amazon that could house a CO2 monitor and might work. The difficulty is in ensuring there is still some way for air to get in so it can be measured.
