Hi All,
Another bit of a niche question from me. My partner uses a CPAP (Philips Dreamstation 2) and we want it to have filtration to protect them against viruses and bacteria.
The filters the CPAP currently has are:
Pollen filter: 88% efficient @ 7-10 micron size
Ultra-fine filter: 95% efficient @ 0.5 - 0.7 micron size
I’m in the UK so I’m used to ffp rating system which is based on efficacy at 0.3 micron size, so I don’t really know how this compares to that.
So my questions for everyone are:
- how effective are these against viruses and bacteria?
- do cpap machines exist that are rated for filtration like hepa filters or respirators?
- does anyone have other suggestions about filtration options for cpap against viruses and bacteria?
We’re currently also looking at inline filters but these appear to be mostly just rated for dust and other allergens.
Thanks everyone!
